Abdallah Ibrahim Al Rushaydan is a citizen of Saudi Arabia who was held in extrajudicial detention in the United States Guantanamo Bay detainment camps, in Cuba.[1] Al Rushaydan's Guantanamo Internment Serial Number was 343. The Department of Defense reports that Al Rushaydan was born on January 4, 1967, in Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Abdallah Ibrahim al Rushaydan was transferred to Saudi Arabia on May 18, 2006.[2]

Combatant Status Review[]

Al Rushaydan was among the 60% of prisoners who participated in the tribunal hearings.[3] A Summary of Evidence memo was prepared for the tribunal of each detainee. The memo for his hearing lists the following:[4]

a. The detainee is associated with forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States and its coalition partners:
  1. The detainee voluntarily traveled from Saudi Arabia to Afghanistan in November 2001
  2. The detainee traveled and shared hotel rooms with an Afghani
  3. The Afghani the detainee traveled with is a member of the Taliban government.
  4. The detainee was captured on 10 December 2001 on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan.


Administrative Review Board[]

Detainees whose Combatant Status Review Tribunal labeled them "enemy combatants" were scheduled for annual Administrative Review Board hearings. These hearings were designed to assess the threat a detainee may pose if released or transferred, and whether there are other factors that warrant his continued detention.[5]

Al Rushaydan chose to participate in his Administrative Review Board hearing.[6]

Repatriation[]

According to The Saudi Repatriates Report Al Rushaydan has been repatriated.[7]
