On January 15, 2010, the Department of Defense complied with a court order and published a list of Detainees held in the Bagram Theater Internment Facility that included the name Qalam.[1][2][3]
There were 645 names on the list, which was dated September 22, 2009, and was heavily redacted.[1][2]
According to historian Andy Worthington, author of the The Guantanamo Files, Qalam was arrested in Kabul on September 3, 2003.[3][4][5] Kabul's chief of police, Khalil Aminzada, identified Qalam as a former commander in the Hezbi Islami Gulbuddin.
